Newcastle United fans celebrate the new era under the new owner

There were scenes of celebration at St James' Park as Newcastle United fans praised another time under new proprietors.

Thousands rushed to the arena on Thursday after a £305m Saudi Arabian-supported takeover was affirmed.

It closes Mike Ashley's 14-year spell as proprietor in which the club has twice been consigned from the Premier League.

Toon Legend Alan Shearer says it denoted a "uncommon day" for the club's patient allies, albeit the move has demonstrated disputable.

The Public Investment Fund (PIF), which will give 80% of assets to the arrangement, is viewed as independent to the state, which has been scrutinized over its basic liberties record.

This is notwithstanding the Crown Prince of Saudi Arabia, Mohammed container Salman, being recorded as PIF seat.
